11:53 am	Here we go... I know I said I would do this weeks ago, but I got a bit busy working 40+ hours every week and trying to keep up with my friends. But I'm here I'm finally going to write this huge effing update. Sooo it has been just over a year now since I've moved to Wales, time to reflect. I have never regretted my decision to move here, but it hasn't always been easy. When I first moved here it took me about 2 months to find a job so I really struggled with money for a long time, but I got by. After a week of living in my friends kitchen I found my own house. I shared the house with an Australian boy, a Greek girl and a Spanish boy. Another international house, but it was really great. We didn't see each other very much, but it was very easygoing and pleasant to live there except for our crazy landlady, but oh well. I've been working in Claire's Accessories which is good and bad. I know its a shit job, but its exactly what I needed. I worked just enough to get by, but not too much that I couldn't do a lot of other things and just have a lot of fun. I'm still working there, but more full time and as a supervisor so its a lot more responsibility. I looked for work all the time, but there really isn't anything here. All of my friends who just graduated are still looking for jobs and what they find is shit as well. But I do like it there, the people I work with are really great. We have a lot of laughs in work and go out together sometimes as well. I moved in September with some friends. Four girls living together, I didn't know if I would be ok with it, but it has been really great so far. We hang out a lot together in the living room and there really isn't as much drama as I thought there would be. But yeah this year here has been really great. I have really had a great time, but I probably drink too much. The British really are all alcoholics and its pretty much the only thing to do in Wales so its what we do, but its always a good laugh. I was kind of with this guy for the majority of the year, but we were never officially together. He lived in England and then finally moved to Cardiff in July but we are done now, he was a huge asshole. But now I'm moving on from that, it has been more difficult than I thought, but I have never really been with someone before and even though we were never official, we were really close and we were "together" for a long time. So my next plan is to get my masters in the Netherlands. I hope to move to Holland in June and then start school in September. I'm still researching what degree I want to get, but I have some ideas. I'm really nervous to move though because I am quite settled and happy here, but I know I could never make a real life and do what I really want to do. I'm sure I will really miss it, but I have to do this because I'm not working in Claire's the rest of my life. I'm working on learning more Dutch and saving as much money as I can for the move and whatnot. I've been to Holland a few times which has always been amazing and my family has all visited me which was really nice as well. I do miss Florida sometimes, especially when my mom is like oh its sooo warm here and I'm freezing my ass off, haha. I do miss all of you a lot as well, I'd love to hear from you all and know a little more what you are doing because I feel a bit out of touch with everyone. But don't worry because I'm coming in February!!!! I haven't bought my ticket yet, but I'm going to take 3 weeks off and come from about the 1st until the 19th. So clear your schedules cause its not that often that I get to come to Florida. It will be so strange to be back again but I'm really really really excited. Hopefully I remember how to drive and I can come visit everyone wherever they are. I love that even just working in Claire's I get 5.6 weeks paid holiday, there are some great things in this country. I'm not really sure what else there is to tell, I'm sure you have seen my photos. Its a lot of going out and just hanging out as well. Alana has been here twice now so she can say how great it is, I think she fell in love with this country as well. When people hear my accent though they are like why would you move to Wales from America you are crazy! Maybe I am but I'm happy and that's all that matters. I think that's everything then. 11:18 am	The End Is Near. Hi. I'm done with school. YES. I was the last person to finish, but it is finally done now. I had a lot of fun before the work and all, but the pressure is finally gone and I can really relax. Went to a festival, full ponty, and saw reel big fish and the lost prophets, and loads of welsh bands who weren't half bad. My mom comes today, I'm really happy she will be there to help me go home because I will be sad. I'm excited to see everyone again though. A year is a freaking long time. I love these people here, and they can't stop telling me how much I'm gonna be missed which makes it harder. It has been the most fantastic crazy drunken insane fun amazingly awesome different life changing year. Coming to Wales was so last minute, what was it before, Denmark? Australia? England? Holland? Wales ended up being the best place I could have gone and it was my last resort to get out of hot hot florida. So I will be seeing you all in 2 weeks, ack just typing that makes my stomach drop. This year will be good i think though. Another scary one because, for me, it is the last year in uni. When I am back you can't make fun of me for saying british terms, I got so much shit here for my american words and now that i have finally adjusted it's time to go. 2:15 pm	It's paper writing time which means it's time to update! So the past three weeks have been really busy and it doesn't stop until i leave. i am officially finished with classes, well i actually have been for 3 weeks now. the first week off was so relaxing and fun. it was so sunny and spring like out. so the few friends of mine that were still around and i discovered all the beer gardens in town. then i went to scotland. wow it is beautiful there. like woah. i went there for four days with my friend sabrina. we walked all over the city of endinburgh and saw all the sights. we also took a day tour of the country. went all up through the highlands up to loch ness and down the other coast. i had a few days at home to get my shit together to go to london. i went there on monday to meet my dad, but he didn't get there until thursday. so i was alone in london for three days. at first i was kind of afraid, like what the hell am i going to do alone. but i really had the best time just doing my own thing and seeing all the sights. i felt so independent. i walked everywhere in the city and it's a huge city. a lot of the museums were free so i took advantage and went to a bunch of them. tate modern was amazing and so was the british museum. well my dad finally made his flight and we spent a day and a half so he could see some of london. by friday i was really ready to leave. as amazing as it is, london is just too busy for me. after being there so long i started feeling stressed out cause everyone is always rushing. my dad and i had a really great time together. we went to a few different places in wales. brecon beacons a huge national park and swansea a town on the sea and also cardiff. it was over a year since i had seen him so it was really great to just hang out. he left wednesday morning and then i saw all of my friends for the first time since break. i missed them and it was great to hang out again. i know i'm really going to miss it here. but i do miss florida, well not florida, but all of you. so now i have two papers to do by tuesday and of course i haven't started. i really don't care, i would rather see my friends because i really don't have much time left. so yeah i guess that is all for right now. hope everyone is doing well! loveeee!! 11:32 pm	!!! Wooh ok so I haven't written in ages once again. I've been busy with papers and having fun (mostly having fun haha). I'm really excited now and kind of going crazy in my head so I thought writing about it all would be a good way to calm myself. Classes are pretty much over here so the structure of the life is gone. I have 4 large papers and 2 exams left. Most of my friends have gone home for 3 weeks for easter break which is sad, but I have a busy holiday planned as well. It is really coming down to the end now. This next week I have time to relax, make travel plans, and work on my assignments. I am going to Scotland on the 9th with my friend Sabrina and my flatmate Zeyna and her boyfriend are going at the same time as well. Then my dad is coming on the 15th and we will stay in London for a few days and then travel in Wales. After he leaves my friend Sara from Florida is coming to visit since she studied here last term. After that I have two weeks to study for my two exams. Then my mom is coming to travel hopefully to Ireland and then a bit throughout Wales and then we will travel back to Florida together. So yeah, pretty much it feels like it is over because all of my time is planned out. I am going to this full day concert thing. The main group is the Lost Prophets since they come from the town I am living in, haha so weird. But yeah all the guys are going so it will be a great way to say goodbye and be together one last full day of drinking and listening to some hopefully good bands. That isn't until the end of May though so I know I still have time left here. I am getting excited to come home, I really miss everyone and it will be great to be back. But I will miss Wales terribly. I love my friends here and the life and the weather (I prefer the rain to humidity). But I also love all of you! But I always knew I would see you all again, but I don't know if I will see these people again. I know I will never have this year again, this same life of going out too many times a week and walking up the hills and listening to all the accents. It has really been wonderful and it still will be for the next two months. I'm just freaking out because I'm starting to sign up for classes in Florida and sign my lease for my room and all of that so it is becoming real that I am coming home and this dream I have been living will end soon. It will all be grand though. You will all soon be able to make fun of the way I talk and become annoyed with my endless stories and photos and references to Wales. Cheers! 6:58 pm	Happy Birthday Alex! So I finally finished my massive amounts of papers, not that they are any good, but they are done! But then, i get this flu so i haven't even been able to properly go out and celebrate! I did end up going out on saturday which was no good cause i had a fever, but it was still fun. Sunday I watched sports alll day. First was rugby, which is my new favorite sport, loads of blood, pretty sick. Then some football (soccer) and finally i watched the superbowl. I really don't know why i did that. Because of the time difference it didnt start til like 11 at night so we were up really late once again. but it was pretty fun watching with british guys cause they were very confused, not that i had a clue what was going on either, but still quite hilarious. anyway i just thought i would ramble for a bit, i might do this more often so i can remember the little things. the main point of this was so that i could wish my dear friend Alexandra Omega Towe a Happy 21st Birthday!!! 1:09 pm	oh wales hello, how are you? i'm doing well. very well. ok, so here we are again, writing some sort of random update. i wish i would write in this thing more, i know i would be happy later, but im so bad. anyway my holidays were very nice and relaxing, it was so great to see my mom and be in holland again. amsterdam was awesome for new years, suuper crazy fireworks, like woah. coming back to wales was good. two of my best friends went back to america for good, which is sad, but i made new friends, a bunch of british boys. they are the funniest/craziest/silly kids and i have the best times with them. i have to write three papers this month. i did one already and am working on the others. my weeks pretty much go sun-tues write a 3000 word paper wed-sat go out with the boys. last weekend they took me to a strip club, haha so very funny. i was quite amused watching their faces. i've got some good girl friends too, but with the group of boys its usually just me and sabrina as the only girls. it still rains, alot, actually today is one of the very few sunny days i have seen. i might have to make it outside to feel the sun on my face, at least once this month. so last night i went to this party on campus where everyone dressed in school uniforms. it was goood. we never dance, but that night all we did was dance and it was so so great. the boys were funny to dance with and i made a new gay friend. if i wanted to i could be a huge slut here. but i'm not, i'm letting the american reputation down. i lost my friend who would save me from creepy boys, but now i have like 10 of them. i needed it a few times yesterday. ok well i best get productive, wooh some paper about the european union. ok bye. xxx (7 Comments |Comment on this)

11:56 am	Hello So, it has been a really really long time. I guess that shows how motherfucking awesome it is here. It is pretty great though. School is ok, kinda reminds me of new college, but oh well. I love the area, its so beautiful. I still havent traveled much, but i still have loads of time. my friends are awesome here, but i miss you all! I'm really starting to feel a bit homesick, but im going to the netherlands for winter break, so thats close enough. going to the pub is what we do here cause the town is so small and there is nothing to do, but we have good fun together. i have a week off of school now, woop woop, but i have to write some papers. its been so damn cold here. one day all of the grass was frozen. i love winter clothes. i have a big bright red winter jacket, its pretty hot. but yeah things are good, i'm really happy here. but you should all try and be on aim like once in a while, i would love to talk to everyone, i'm on when i can be. i love and miss you all!!! 2:15 pm	Boy Do I Have a Story For You Ok, so last night a bunch of my friends and I went to our favorite pub. It was a nice time just talking and drinking and meeting new people. So Patty the irish boy invited us to his place because he just got here and he wanted a party at his place. So we go there and all just drink and talk some more. So my two other irish friends Emer and Neve(thats not how you spell it but whatever) and I decided to go outside to get away from the loud music and to get some fresh air. So we were on the front steps and this group of guys, mostly welsh i think, came up and started to talk to us. One guy kissed all of our hands and when he came to me he stopped and had to tell me how beautiful i was and he wouldnt let my hand go. So they asked if they could come to our party but we were like no its not our party its our friends so we cant just let people in. So they were like ok come to our party and we were like no we are at this party. SO THEN...the guy that kissed our hands was like first one naked gets to go in the house and he took of allll of his clothes!! So i was still on the sidewalk and emer and neve were at the door running in but i was blocked by naked guy. I finally escaped and we got inside and we were laughing soooo hard that everyone inside had to go and look outside and then they were all invited in. But wait there is more. So while inside he took his clothes off a few more times (very smallllll penis btw). then he sits next to me, with clothes on thank god. so he puts his hands on my leg and i kept pushing him off and turning my head. He was like it is worth a try. im like no. So after this continues for quite some time he turns to me and says "Do you wanna fuck?" I was like what!?!?!? NOOOO!!! and he was like why not? why not??? I was like why not?? OMG what kind of question is that?. So then his friend walks over and is like "do you wanna fuck me then?" Oh my fucking god I dont wanna fuck either of you holy shit!!! So yeah they finally left thank god. And my american buddy eric came over and i told him what happened cause no one really heard it because the music was loud and he said that if we are out together and i ever feel uncomfortable with a guy to tell them that he is my boyfriend. 10:09 am	Busy Busy Well Hello, So it has been sooo busy, but I have made some friends and I found a flat with them. My hungarian friends, gina and greg and i looked on saturday and found a place together, greg is next door. then we ate dominos pizza in a park. that night we were literally dragged to a pub, but it was fun to see. I need sleep which i finally got last night. yesterday we saw two castles, a ruined one and a beautiful one. We went to downtown cardiff which is the capitol of wales. it is a beautiful city on the water and the spot we were at really reminded me of channel side in tampa. Later we had some free dinner and then i had to sleep or i was gonna cry. so now i am all refreshed and ready to go again. Im going to shop with sabrina and then play table tennis later with gina. I love learning all about the different countries. Like i know so much about hungarians now. maybe my observations are boring to others but i am fascinated by them, i guess that i why my major is international studies. So anyway im sooo happy with my new house and i cant wait to unpack cause i have been living out of a suitcase for a looong time now. 9:33 am	I'M IN FUCKING WALES Ok so here I am. I have met lots of people from lots of different countries and I am doing really well at talking to people. Um my first impression of Wales...well when I saw the Welcome to Wales sign, the next thing I saw were sheep. I hear there is a 3:1 ratio of sheep to humans. All of the signs are in English and Welsh cause in 2000 they passed a law to keep the language a live. So Wales is good, but older and a little more back country than I had imagined. Well actually this little town I'm in has more to do than the Cape I think, but it is small. All of the buildings in the school are old and dirty, but its so cute, so I really think I'm gonna love this place. First day: I met the other USF girl in London and we traveled to the campus together. It was a three hour bus ride. In Cardiff we met some Hungarians in the shuttle to the school. Sabrina, the girl from USF went to her room and I went with the Hungarians to our rooms in a different building. We all went for dinner together. When I got back I met some American girls and a Polish girl. The Polish girl invited me for drinks with another Polish guy and a German guy so I drank a pint in a local pub and I talked to some local guy, but I could understand the hungarians and polish peoples english better than his. Oh yeah and the school really is on this steep hill and I already walked up it 3 times so its gonna be crazy. Well I'm gonna go look for a place to live with the Hungarian and Polish girl. Bye Bye. 1:33 pm	Hello strangers Howdy! So it has been a really really long time but I don't have the energy to write a lot. I feel really overwhelmed right now, with the things I have done, have to do, and what I will be doing soon. It has pretty much been non-stop for a month now and I will not have a break until I settle into wales. But it has been amaaaaazingly fantaaaaastic. I put more pictures on facebook. That is the last of them from me, but I still have to get allll of the pictures that josh took while he was here. I still don't have a place to live in wales, but that will all come together I'm sure, I just do not know when or if I will have internet there. I like that you are all back to school now because you write more. Arg i need to breath. Oh yeah so I got a really hot haircut and color, so yeah i'm pretty now. Umm oh yeah just a funny thing. So there are dutch words that are english words but mean something else. Like the dutch word monster is sample in english and smoking means tuxedo. Haha I really get a kick out of that stuff. I think i'm going to have a problem with some of these english words. I was reading the plan for the welcome week and I was like wtf does that mean so I had to look it up. 11:58 am	The Good Times Are Killing Me Ok so i have to back track and remember what i did weeks ago. I spent that week in eindhoven alone and with youri, we would go out sometimes it was nice. Anja and luc came back from holiday and i saw them for a few days. On sat youri came for dinner and invited me to go out. we first went to a friends house and drank whiskey .bah. then went to his house and drank more whiskey and then we made it to rush the huge popular party. it was so fucking awesome cause everyone was really drunk and just having a good time. the place was so huge and full w/ people. I broke my finger on the ride home. just out of the club i got on my bike and fell right off and then later i was hit and really got hurt. But that night i had someone to comfort me. the next morning we went to the hospital and i got a WWI cast and sling. really it was so old school. i stayed that night in eindhoven and the next day i went to amsterdam to see sanne again. we always have the best time together just laughing about stupid crazy things. she has bed bugs in her house which was really bad so we went to her friends house. She was on roller blades and i was on a bike w/ my cast people were really looking at us funny. well that night there was 1 euro beers at a club so we went there. i did well on a bike with sanne on the back but i only had one arm so i couldnt really turn so juildert (i dont know how to spell it) had me on his bike. he is the guy from the pictrues when i went out in amsterdam the first time, he is really the nicest guy. I got so much attention at the club because of my arm so it was really funny. on the way back home sanne had me on her bike and she hit a curb and we fell and i hit my cast and it hurt so bad. the next day we had to go to her house for the bug guy to come spray and then we went to the hospital because my finger was really messed up. I got a new cast that is red and small so it is much better. that night we just hung out and talked which was really cool. she is the person here who knows everything going on in my life and i know her stuff to so it is really nice to see her. the next morning josh came. the first thing we did was go to a coffee shop and then we wandered around the city and saw some really cool stores. that night was really a problem cause sanne didnt have any beds b/c of the bugs so we went around the city and looked for hostels but they were all full. i was so mad with my arm, ireally felt useless. they ended up going out and sleeping at a friends house and i slept in the hammock in sannes house. the next day josh and i took a walk through the red light district, those are some nasty hookers. That night we went to eindhoven to youris house. we went to the city and drank. I was on a bike again, but i got my own so there were no problems. josh is the laziest guy i have ever seen. youri was tired from football training and josh still sat on the back of the bike. I think the whole time here with youri josh cycled for 5 min. the next day we just hung out while youri was at work. when he came back we went to a bday party for an old neighbor of his. it was chill. there was a crazy american guy there so it was funny. after that we went to another bday party of a girl i met before. It was so cool because i knew half of the people there and so did josh. so we just talked alot and drank alot at this party, it was good. we biked home when the sun was coming out. I laughed the whole ride home b/c youri is crazy on abike and josh was just on the back making me laugh. i was surprised they only fell once. the next day youri had to do family things so josh and i stayed at his house and all of his friends came over and it was cool to hang out again. that evening we went to grammys. it was good to rest. she took us out for dinner and then we visited my cousin noortje who was in the car accident. the next evening we went to eindhoven and got drunk at youris house but i fell asleep on the couch b/c the next morning i had to go to the hospital for a checkup. last night we went to the carnival and got drunk again, they went to town and i slept. ugh i need more rest but i am having the best time. i feel like i have lived a lifetime in this week. ok im done now. Boy do i have a story to tell...It will not be long b/c it is hard to type...On sat. night i went out with my friend youri to htis huge party at a club and when we came home at 5 in the morning i was biking and some crazy asshole on a abike hit me and i fell into a wall, broke my pinky and now i have a cast on my right arm! It fucking sucks, but youri was really good to me taking care of me like an older brother. i want to tell more but it hurts and takes forever. 11:56 am	Just some random things So the other day i went to my cousin anieks house again. It was cool, we went to a BBQ one day and then swimming with her dog the next day. It is kind of a weird time now because everyone i know is on holiday or busy with work so i am in einhoven again in the empty house. But, my friend youri lives here and we had dinner last night and when he gets off of work tonight i think we will again. Josh will be here in a week too. Well i just have to tell about some random things i have observed: Butter is what they put on bread even with meat or cheese, and i think you know how i dont like butter. It is socially acceptable to wear the same clothes two days in a row, even the people my age do it. Ooh they have these green boxes next to their garbage for fruit peels and coffee and stuff like that to make compost and it is taken with the trash every week. I dont know if this has hit america, but a very popular hairstyle among the guys is a mullet. It is so horrible and gross because they slick down the back and spike the top, but it is the style here. Maybe just the usfers know this show, but remember the sex inspectors, well there is a dutch version on regular tv here called better in bed, its exactly the same but with dutch people. haha. So anyway hope all is well in florida, you people should tell me what you are up to because if i have time on a computer, i know you do and i want to hear whats going on. So yeah ok bye. 6:48 pm	Hello again finally! Well this is going to be very long because it has been forever since i last updated. So the last time I wrote a big entry was when I was in eindhoven and I am there again now, but the family is on vacation so it is just me here taking a day to organize my life again. I was sick here for maybe 5 days, but it was ok, i read practical demonkeeping and hung out with justin and doris, their kitten. It was so busy here though because of the neighborhood kids playing in the garden. Everyday we would do little things like go to the local farmer or the playground. We also all watched the world cup final together and made bets on what the score would be i said 2-1 italy and was the closest. It was relaxed. Finally on tuesday the 11th of july i felt better and went to tilburg to see grammy. It was soo great to see her again, she has been through a lot since i last saw her, so she has changed but she still is crazy and awesome. on wednesday we went to her grandsons birthday party. He turned 12 and i got to see a lot of people, kind of family. The boys took me out on a little boat which was so fantastic. I was at grammy's for the rest of the week just relaxing and really getting over my cold. We went to grampys grave which was nice. She had me water the plants every night which was an hour job, but i enjoyed it. We had dinner at her son roel's house and i saw their kids who are a little younger than me. They have grown up so much! We played a lot of triominoes which is my favorite game here. On sunday my uncle and his wife came to pick me up. I had dinner at their house and guus, aniek, and menno came. guus and i went to anieks and mennos house for the night. It was great being with them again, and with people my age. We went to their friends house and played some video games. The next day guus and i went back to my uncles house and watched red dragon. mmm edward norton. That night aniek and menno picked me up and we went to a birthday party of their friends, it was also menno's birthday. That was another good night. The next day aniek and i went shopping and i bought the best sunglasses ever! She gave me a cell phone which makes my life so much easier. That day i went to breda where my aunt lives. I thought by going there i would take a break from partying, but there was a festival in the park that happens every tuesday during the summer so we went there. At first I thought it was just going to be my aunt and her husband hanging out in the crowd, but then all of her friends came and so there were like 20 of us. My cousin sarah was there and it was nice to see her again and meet her boyfriend. Well the beers kept coming and then when the music stopped in the park we went to another pub. Ha, what a funny night out with my aunt and her friends. The next day we went to the stables and i saw their horse bambix. He is a crazy horse. The vet came that day to give shots and he was the only one that freaked out, and he really freaked out. On wednesday my cousin sarah and her friends brought me to a swimming place in belgium. It was so nice to swim in fresh water and be in the sun, i could win the tan off by the way. That night i went shopping with my little cousin anne who now speaks english. I have seen like 5 people who were little kids the last time i was here and are now taller than me and speak english, its crazy. So anyway today i came to eindhoven. I really needed a day to do laundry and write this and pick some things up. It was so fantastic for me today because i really felt like i live here. I took the train from breda and then the bus. I have never taken the bus in einhoven so it was all new and i took the right one and got off at the right stop. Then i got a bike from the house and went to the center of the city to shop for food and then found my way home. I have not spent much time in the city and never alone so for me to find my way from the train and then to the center is really great i think. I even had a shopping card for the dutch food store albert hein so i really felt dutch. I'm so independent lol...Well youri just came here so maybe i will go and do something with him. 5:30 pm	HOT Ok so I have been very busy these past days and i have to write about it soon or i will forget, but this computer screen is fucked up and it freaks me out so i will have to really update later. It is so fucking hot here. the second heat wave is here now. no one has airco so there is no escape from the heat. there is this festival in holland where 50,000 people from 24 different countries walk 50 kilometers in four days and two people died the first day so it was canceled. thats how hot it is. hope everyone is well. 9:56 pm	Time You know what I really like here. There are churches everywhere and the bells ring every hour with the time. So when I am in bed wondering what time it is, i hear the bells ring twice and know it is two, very fantastic. Well I was mostly in bed today because of my cold, but rest is nice. The time difference is so wierd to me, I am thinking of sleep and I know all of you are in the middle of your day. That is all. (4 Comments |Comment on this)
